Spring Newsletter

September 1 marks the beginning of Spring in the southern hemisphere and we look forward to some warmer days! Winter in Africa often feels colder than a European winter. Read my latest Spring newsletter and if you are keen to subscribe find the link in the footer below. Enjoy the official beginning of the Spring season.

Girls run the World

A song that has become a feminist mantra and still reverberates around the world today. It is the title of the current group exhibition at Eclectica Gallery in Cape Town and I am thrilled to be part of it.

Let me quote: "Our intentions, as a gallery and as a team, have always been to provide a platform that highlights and celebrates the narratives of and from the African continent and so, by hosting a group exhibition in August each year, our focus turns towards sharing the stories of woman and non-binary artists. This means turning towards conversations around the impact of gender, its definitions, and the constraints that shape and reflect society at large."

Exhibiting artists include: Adulphina Imuede, Asuka Nirasawa, Claire Idera, Damilola Onosowbo, Sherin Baroudy, Sophie Goudman-Peachey, Melissa Haiden, Muofhe Manavhela, Nina Holmes, Riley Wilken, Stephanie Unaeze, Tayhe Munsamy, and Yunyoung Ahn. Come and view the exhibition until 4. October 2022. More information and the catalogue can be found on the Eclectica website.

Enjoy the beginning of African Spring and the end of a hot Summer up north. Much love,
